Smithtown

Smithtown residents are surrounded by the great outdoors. The 627-acre Blydenburgh County Park is a paradise for hiking, horseback riding and freshwater fishing, while nearby Caleb Smith State Park Preserve provides an additional 543 acres for natural recreation. Kayaking and canoeing are available along the Nissequogue River, which empties into Long Island Sound, where residents have privileges at town beaches. Smithtown has a walkable downtown and pockets of commerce along Route 25, while Smith Haven Mall, with more than 140 stores and restaurants, lies just over its eastern border. The varied housing stock ranges from ranches and capes to colonials and post-moderns.
